Semi-Homemade Baked Beans with Stevia | SweetLeaf®

This recipe is featured in our cookbook, Cooking with SweetLeaf Stevia®.

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, small, finely chopped
  • 3 — 16 oz. cans baked beans
  • 1/8 cup SugarLeaf®
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Lay the bacon out on a baking sheet and bake until crisp, about 15 minutes. Remove the bacon, dry on a paper towel and cut 6 slices into bite-sized pieces. Reserve 2 Tbsp. of bacon drippings and heat in a small skillet on the stove on medium heat. Add green pepper and onion, sautéing until golden, about 5 to 8 minutes.

In a baking dish, stir together beans, bacon pieces, sautéed green peppers and onions, SugarLeaf®, ketchup, and mustard. Bake uncovered 1 hour or until bubbly.
